Like it? ;)

So do you like my new theme? ;)

I’ve retained the old header and just tweaked it a bit to fit the new header width. I also would have liked to use the old blog background I have but for some reason, I just couldn’t get it to show up. As you can see, I have managed to get it to show up only in the blog description and navigation area. I am still tweaking with the stylesheet a bit to get the blog background image to really show up.

The reason why I wanted to change themes is that I grew tired of trying to tweak the codes of the old one. No single post file ready and I also wanted two sidebars because I am going to put up some things on it. As I’ve said in an earlier post, I will put up movie trailers and some things about organizing stuff on it.

Just go back again within the next few days and I promise there will be new shiny things on the sidebar for you to tinker with!

New theme to be installed

A new theme will be installed within the hour. There will be some changes here and there. I want this blog to look cleaner and will add on some things on the sidebar(s) as well.

On the sidebar: movie trailers and other things related to movies I like. And a running list of movies I’ve watch and about to watch.

What do you think?

Be back later!

;)

Needs to look her best

She looked at her most recent photos and realized that she badly need to apply face moisturizers again. She has dry skin. She can’t afford to have bad skin now that she will be joining a beauty pageant. She needs to look her best, of course.

The thing with her is that she is lazy. She doesn’t like rituals. Putting on creams or anything is a hassle to her. But, well, she has to exert more effort to look her best otherwise her dream of becoming a beauty queen won’t come into fruition.

Ditch the caps!

She was talking to Tom when she suddenly noticed that he has a thinning crown. He almost always wears a cap on so you won’t notice it right off. But when he takes off his cap, that’s when you’ll see he’s going bald. He needs the best shampoo for thinning hair. That’s what he needs and to take care of his crowning glory more.

She thinks that wearing his caps is doing him more harm than good. She told him to ditch it and she thinks he will.

The Chronicles of Narnia

There are so many good movies coming up. But the one that my siblings and I are anticipating the most this December is The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

Narnia Dawn Treader

After Harry Potter ends July 2011, we don’t have much to look forward to anymore when talking about a good movie franchise. Narnia is the only one left, I think.

All decked out

christmas

27 more days before Christmas! Wow! Don’t you just feel like time is flying by so fast?! Before we all know it, Christmas is already here and then the new year comes rushing in!

Is your house already decked out with the usual Christmas decor? Ours has been up since the first day of November. My dad is a little over enthusiastic about putting up the decorations newly bought. Anyway, we all love it!

Stress buster

Watching movies are Abby and her friends past time. They love to meet from time to time, mostly after their work then they will head to the movie house. They also love getting theater tickets and watching random plays from time to time. Watching movies and plays is the ultimate stress buster for Abby. Her work is causing her stress and headaches so she really finds time to unwind. Abby will meet her friends again this Friday and she cannot wait to have a long chat with them and watch movies together. Or it could be a play again just like last time!

Long vacations

Beach is one of the favorite places of Tara. That’s why her boyfriend had surprised her with Outer Banks vacation. Tara shrieked with delight when her boyfriend told her that they will be spending the holidays at the beach. She really loves it. It’s always her dream to spend a long vacation with her boyfriend and she’s happy that he made an effort to surprise her and make her happy. After telling her about the vacation, Tara immediately made a mental note on what clothes to bring. She’s already an expert in packing her bags, so no problem at all.

Look the prettiest

My sister will be the Maid of Honor for her best friend’s wedding. She is always searching for special occasion dresses and until now, she haven’t decided what to design to wear. My sister is excited about the big day and she’s trying organize her schedule so she could exercise and lose weight. She’s a bit on the heavy side but I’m confident that she will look the prettiest on her gown. What are sisters for, right? *wink*

Festive mall

Reina brought her nieces to the mall yesterday. The malls are now looking very festive due to the holiday season. Her nieces saw a Minnie mouse doll and that reminded them of Orlando theme parks that they were searching last night. Their dad had asked them where they want to go this Christmas and the two adorbs wanted to go to theme parks. Reina bought each one the Minnie mouse doll because they all got excited and had chatted nonstop about what they will do when they are on the theme parks.

Changes again?

I will be changing the theme here. I am looking for a clean layout. A three-column theme will be fine with me. I plan to use the same header and will just adjust it if the new theme will require a wider header. I won’t be changing the title and the description of this blog but will retain the same.

I also plan to put movie trailers on the sidebar. The latest movie trailer of the one I am most looking forward to be watching. I will also put a running list of movies I’ve watched for the year. I will start it in 2011. And I have so much more in my mind right now I will try to put everything into perspective first.

What do you think of my plans?

Searching for something…

Myla is searching for the something…The best diet pill on the market which she wants for her to lose weight and become fit again. It’s been two years now that she gained weight due to pregnancy and she’s really having a tough time to lose or shed those extra pounds. With her duties to her baby and to her husband, she always felt tired and she resort to eating a lot to wash her tiredness. Now, she has to stop this bad habit of hers. She needs to start eating healthy foods again and to exercise before her baby wakes so she will have her old body back.

A sanctuary

Bathroom is a sanctuary and somewhere you can relax and just drift. This is the perception of Marie and most of the women will definitely agree to her. She always make sure that her bathroom vanity is organize and always clean. Aside from her bedroom, her bathroom is one of her favorite place in her house. She designed it the way she likes and this is where she has a “me time”. This is where she read books and most of the time meditates.

Supportive of her

Jill is trying to lose weight because the last time she check her weight, she’s already an obese. She truly hates it that she gained pounds and not doing anything about it. Jill doesn’t mind that she’s fatty and all but when her health was affected, that’s a different story. Her health is her top priority. Jill is now asking her friends to help her lose weight and they are all very supportive. Suggestions on how to lose weight are pouring in and one of her friends who lost a lot of pounds recommended Lipofuze to her. Some of her friends are also suggesting that they go jogging together or join group exercises. Abby really appreciates all their efforts. She got teary-eyed whenever she thinks about it.

Let Me In

Let Me In

Let Me In is a horror/fantasy/mystery movie. It is basically about a young boy being bullied in school who befriended a female vampire. The title was taken from the myth that you have to let a vampire in before he/she can actually get inside your house. A scene where the female lead Abby, played by Chloe Moretz, was knocking at Owen’s window so she could come in…

Chloe Moretz

The male lead Owen, played by Kodi Smit-McPhee, is a kid who looked like a girl. Three bullies in school torments him all the time. He vents his frustration alone and gets to meet a girl who just moved in the next-door apartment to theirs. She tells him that they can’t be friends but actually lures him into co-dependency.

Owen and Abby

That for me is the main theme of this movie. Co-dependency. Abby needs Owen because her companion who was being introduced to strangers as her father, played by Richard Jenkins, is already old. In the movie, Jenkins got sloppy in fetching fresh blood for Abby, got involved in a car accident and to avoid being interrogated by the police, he poured acid on his face. In the hospital, after saying goodbye to Abby, he jumped to his death. Abby needs Owen more than ever.

Owen, on the other hand, needs Abby because she makes him feel like he could do anything. He struck the bully on the ear and he felt really good about it. The bullying continues and in one scene, Abby ripped the heads off the bullies who were trying to drown Owen.

He is now irrevocably drawn and indebted to her.

I love this movie a lot! I’ve read one review that said this is the extreme opposite of Twilight where the latter was a soppy vampire tale while this movie told of a deeper and darker and truer side of vampires. It’s evil and that’s that.

By the way, this movie was based on the movie Let The Right One In which was based on the novel of the same title written by John Ajvide Lindqvist.
