Reminded of him

One of the men I know works for a manufacturing company. He is assigned in the petroleum hose section of it. I haven’t talked to him in a long while. He is very busy both with work and personal life. I am reminded of him today because I saw something about petroleum in the news.

I exert effort to get in touch with people I know. Even just on Facebook or Twitter. But as we all know, it isn’t that easy. Sometimes, even responding to a text message takes time that we can’t afford to use for other than work or what our priorities are. I do wish we’d get to talk again soon.

Joining a marathon

I am planning to join a marathon this year. I am not kidding. I guess watching that reality show where contestants lose weight to win motivated me to do the same. Lose weight, possibly with the aid of fat burners, and then eventually realize the goal of joining a marathon.

I would love to be fit. It’s my ultimate goal before I reach my 35th birthday. I am taking steps towards reaching that goal of mine. Hopefully, it will be realized soon. Way before the deadline I’ve set for myself.

Love for cigar

Mr. Fox buys his cohiba cigars online. He loves his cigars. In fact, every one who knows him can tell you that he is always with an unlit cigar. He got his love for cigars from his boss who invites him regularly to join a cigar club that he belongs to.

Now, Mr. Fox already belongs to two cigar clubs: one with his boss and the other one with his personal friends. He just gets so much fun from smoking his cigars you can see it on his face. His family tolerates this habit because they know how it relaxes him.

Business venture

My sister is looking into franchise opportunities that she can get her hands on. She has this desire to get into a business venture with one of her trusted friends but they just couldn’t find the right business for them. So now they thought it might be prudent to start with a franchise business before venturing into the one business they really want to get into.

It would be great to have a side income while still continuing with a nine to five job. Until her business becomes stable, she will stick with her job for now.

Long battle with sickness

A well-known villain in TV shows and movies died of cancer. It was a long battle for him and one that almost drained the savings of his family. When I was watching the news about him, it made me think of the Blue Cross health plan that a friend was telling me about. My friend made me realize that a long battle with sickness without a health plan in place will not only drain your family emotionally but also financially.

It’s time to get a health plan before we find ourselves sick. And before we start depleting the savings meant for the love ones.

Life after a divorce

She is turning her place into a party venue for her sister who’s turning 50 and recently divorced. She bought three high tables with bar stools and some other stuff she will need for the party she has in mind.

She wants her sister to realize that there’s life after a divorce. There’s life for a 50-year-old woman who has no husband and no kids to speak of. She is inviting all her sister’s close friends and some of her friends, too. Most of the single women they both know and some men to whom she wants her sister to interact with. It will be a pick-me-up party for her and one that she hopes will be a way for her to start mingling again.

Off work permanently

Mr. Lieda is officially off work permanently. Officially retired now. He’s been looking forward to retirement for the past three years. He’s been working for the past 50 years nonstop. Now, it’s time for him to relax and enjoy the remaining years of his life.

His family is throwing a party for him. He guessed because he saw his grandson looking at http://www.redenvelope.com/retirement-gifts-rrtre for a gift for him. It warmed his heart that his family is preparing a party and buying retirement gifts for him. It’s a good start to this phase in his life.

Amy Winehouse and Adele

Two of the women singers that I really like are Amy Winehouse and Adele. Both women have incredible vocals and whenever their songs are on, I make sure that the home speakers are on full volume.

I like Adele’s Chasing Pavements and Amy’s Rehab. Both songs are widely popular and I am one of the millions of fans they have worldwide who fell in the love with the songs when I first heard it. In fact, the first few days I heard the two songs, it’s on repeat in my player.

Who doesn’t love these two women? Amazing talents!

Out of reach

My dad made sure that the two medicine cabinets in the house are out of reach of little kids. Especially the little girl at home which is at an age where she’s curious about everything she sees.

All things that should not be accessible to kids should be out of reach to them. Otherwise, if you provide them any means of reaching items not for them, they will be able to find a way to get to it. Trust me, I know.

Slowly but surely

Kaye and Trish are talking about how they are taking steps to slowly stop their husbands from smoking. Their husbands are big smokers. When they met them, it was fine with them that they smoke but now that they have kids at home, stopping is the best way to go.

The women are starting with making their husbands use low nicotine ecig cartridges. Slowly but surely. Kaye and Trish are sure that their husbands will be able to kick off the habit soon. But now that they are still smoking, they are making their men use low nicotine ecig instead of their usual ones.

Men’s clothes and shoes

Have you seen a man’s closet already? There are two men in our house, my dad and my brother. They have a few items of clothing in it. My dad has a few pairs of pants. My brother has the same. Dad’s got a few shirts and formal wear while my brother has mostly casual clothes in his. In the shoe department, my brother has way more than what my dad has. He even has coogi while my dad only has three pairs of shoes.

I don’t know if the men in your family have bigger closets than women but here at home, the two men can live with just a small closet for each of them.

Beads and me

There was a time that I went gaga over beads! I remember I bought a dozen or so bracelet beads from a co-worker and a friend. I would mix and match the bracelets with whatever outfit I wore. It was that time when I was all trying to be a fashion plate. Haha!

Just a couple of days ago, my love for beads resurfaced. I think it’s the chamilia beads that made me want to go back and wear beads again. I already gave away all the old bracelet beads I had. I think it’s time for me to shop for chamilia beads now!

In a ditch?

We always find ourselves in a ditch finance-wise. I know I’ve been there one time too many in the past. It’s not a nice feeling to be worrying about where to get the money to feed the hungry mouths depending on you or to pay off an important bill to stay afloat.

There are easy personal loans and if you need one, don’t be afraid to avail of it. As long as you know you can pay for the loan, be confident enough to apply for one and use it for the purpose you thought of the loan in the first place. Use loan proceeds wisely.

Just don’t forget to pay on time so as not to get a bad credit report out of it.

Hear their cry for help!

Older persons who are sick need to be monitored. They can easily fall and break a bone when they try to do things on their own. But what if you can’t always be physically with an older person living with you? What if you need to go to the kitchen to cook or to the laundry area to wash the clothes? Or even go to the grocery store?

LifeCall has something to remedy that dilemma. A medical alarm! It is a cry for help at the press of a button! You can be away from an elderly and still respond to a call for help.

The system has a built-in two-way voice communicator unit and a personal help button/medical alert bracelet that a person who is sick, an elderly who can’t manage by him/herself, a senior who is dependent on someone else can use to be able to call for help when there’s a need to. You are assured that the medical alarm monitoring is done 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
