Are you Mom enough?

I must admit that I am one of those people who were shocked to see this cover from TIME magazine. I mean, it’s a real shocker! Can you see how big the kid is already and still breastfeeding from his mom? And is that a real mom looking so smug and ready to tackle whoever it is that goes against her beliefs?

I’m sorry but I just think the image is totally unnecessary. A real good title would have been enough. But since they wanted to go for the shock value, then they won! They got what they are going for!

I just think it’s tasteless and I don’t believe in breastfeeding a kid past the age of two.

Call it a collection.

You can call the more than ten guitars that Leo has as a collection. In fact, it is a collection of his! And he isn’t done collecting yet. He has guitar wall hangers ready for a few more, do you know that?

No one can really remember when he started collecting guitars. He’s a good guitarist and has a band of his own. He first had a guitar when he was 14. It was a gift from his dad and a year or so after he got another one from his grandfather. That same year his older brother left him his most prized guitar as the latter embarked on a mission for the religious sect he’s a member of.

That probably began his collection.

Shaved orange ice and weekends

With this hot and humid weather it is best to spend the rest of the weekends of summer cooling it off somewhere and enjoying shaved orange ice or a smoothie even.

It would be really lovely, don’t you think?

Bare windows

They moved to the house and completely forgot about buying curtains. Seeing as the windows are bare and the glasses are clear, neighbors could see them easily. So the woman of the house took out the drapery fabric (the only fabric) that she saw and created a curtain out of it. She knows how to sew so stuff like that is so easy to remedy for her.

The next day they went to the curtain maker that they know and ordered a dozen made for their tall windows.

Meanwhile the drapery fabric turned curtain was returned to the rightful owner, the oldest child of the house, with the promise that it will be replaced.

Reliable site

When there are special occasions and I don’t have the time to go to the mall to get something, I turn to Personal Creations. I shop online and either have it delivered to me so I can bring it to the party or to the person’s place or I have it delivered directly to the person celebrating the special event.

It is a reliable site and I bookmarked it a long time ago so when I need something for a love one, a friend or an acquaintance even, I just click on the link and shop.

These days time is more scarce so better use it wisely.

Gift for aunt

Aunt Etta’s celebrating her 35th birthday this coming week. Yes, she’s just a few years older than me. She’s dad’s adoptive sister and has been with them since she was a little kid. My sisters and I will get silver jewelry at ZuluMoon.com for her. She loves any kind of jewelry and wears it to work and on special occasions. She loves anything that will complement her fashionable clothes so we thought of it.

We will have dinner with her on the eve of her birthday. She will be flying out of the country for a business conference on the day of her birthday so we will be celebrating a day ahead.

Knock on the door

One thing you have to remember when inside the office and a door’s closed? Knock on the door first before you open it! I learned that the hard way…

I was looking for my boss who sent me a text message asking for the presentation folders that I created for her. Thinking that she sent the message from the boardroom, I barged in there and went directly for the woman sitting with her back to the door. Oh, was I ever wrong! It wasn’t my boss! It was the head of finance from the head office having a teleconferencing meeting with the offshore CEOs!

I was reprimanded for barging into the boardroom and hearing stuff I shouldn’t be privy to. Even when I told them that I didn’t hear anything as I was focusing on the folders that I carried.

Down the basement

I was talking to my friend last night and he told me that he and his brothers are busy taking their dad’s tool supply down the basement. There’s no more room for their van in the garage due to their dad’s stuff so they talked to him about moving his stuff to the basement where they will build him his own work table and shelves.

He agreed and now it’s up to them to bring the tools and other stuff down a flight of steps.

As soon as they are done they will ask their old contractor-friend to fix the garage and the basement a bit to make it look better.

The Avengers and Dark Shadows

I don’t know if I will be able to watch two movies that people are talking about. The Avengers and Dark Shadows. The latter is probably not showing in theaters anymore while the latter was just shown last week.

I am hoping I can still catch Dark Shadows in SM Cinema next week. I love Johnny Depp and any movie of his is enough reason for me to go out and shell out cinema money.

No idle time

I love how there’s always something for me to do and learn from when I am online. Some think that being on the internet means that you are wasting time but the truth is that there is so much to learn and earn from it.

Have you heard of an affiliate marketing? You can earn by endorsing a product or service and when a customer buys from your affiliate link or code, you get a commission out of it. Can you imagine how you can earn from that? The potential earnings?

No to idle time. Go online and earn from it!

Nothing wrong with it.

I find it refreshing to see women shopping for discount jewelry. I would like to tell everyone that there’s nothing wrong with it. There is nothing wrong in admitting that you don’t have enough money to buy for the full tag price but would rather wait for a sale or a slash the price.

I know someone who tries to pretend that she has more than enough money to buy everything she fancies. The truth is that she has someone supporting her in some other way that’s why she can afford all those stuff she buys.

There is nothing wrong to wearing discounted items for as long as it fits you well.

No other choice

I had no other choice but to help my cousin with the H&R block at home. He is not so adept when doing his taxes and since I have experience doing so, he called me up to ask for my help. In exchange, he promised to take me out to lunch. That’s totally fine with me!

Whenever love ones ask for help, I take the time to lend a hand in whatever they need help from. I am not an expert on anything but for whatever it is I know I truly give my best.

Hopefully, that’s enough for them.

Left with little time

I had to run an errand for my dad yesterday for a saft ls14250 so I was left with little time to finish a very important task I have. I asked for an extension of deadline from my “boss” and was given one day more to complete the task. I am grateful for that one day.

So I think I will spend the rest of this day doing nothing else but sit in front of my computer and write, write, write! I will have to finish the task today or I will not get any more tasks from the person I am dealing with.

Good thing there’s no more errand to run.

Busy, busy!

Darren is so busy with his work and the IT Infrastructure Library that he doesn’t have much time for anything else. His parents are calling up asking when he can visit them. His friends are chiding him for always saying “no” to their invites. His colleagues are teasing him about not going out with them for happy hour anymore.

And all he can tell them is that he’s busy!

He is doing his best to catch up on work and be done on the assignment he has now. After that he will find time to make it up to his parents, friends, and colleagues. And to himself!

So there is a reason why we are created short huh. I thought we’re just genetically like this.
