Bare windows

They moved to the house and completely forgot about buying curtains. Seeing as the windows are bare and the glasses are clear, neighbors could see them easily. So the woman of the house took out the drapery fabric (the only fabric) that she saw and created a curtain out of it. She knows how to sew so stuff like that is so easy to remedy for her.

The next day they went to the curtain maker that they know and ordered a dozen made for their tall windows.

Meanwhile the drapery fabric turned curtain was returned to the rightful owner, the oldest child of the house, with the promise that it will be replaced.

When there are special occasions and I don’t have the time to go to the mall to get something, I turn to Personal Creations. Gift for aunt

Aunt Etta’s celebrating her 35th birthday this coming week. Yes, she’s just a few years older than me. She’s dad’s adoptive sister and has been with them since she was a little kid. We will have dinner with her on the eve of her birthday. She will be flying out of the country for a business conference on the day of her birthday so we will be celebrating a day ahead.

Knock on the door

One thing you have to remember when inside the office and a door’s closed? Knock on the door first before you open it! I learned that the hard way…

I was looking for my boss who sent me a text message asking for the presentation folders that I created for her. Thinking that she sent the message from the boardroom, I barged in there and went directly for the woman sitting with her back to the door. Oh, was I ever wrong! It wasn’t my boss! It was the head of finance from the head office having a teleconferencing meeting with the offshore CEOs!

I was reprimanded for barging into the boardroom and hearing stuff I shouldn’t be privy to. Even when I told them that I didn’t hear anything as I was focusing on the folders that I carried.

Down the basement

I was talking to my friend last night and he told me that he and his brothers are busy taking their dad’s tool supply down the basement. There’s no more room for their van in the garage due to their dad’s stuff so they talked to him about moving his stuff to the basement where they will build him his own work table and shelves.

He agreed and now it’s up to them to bring the tools and other stuff down a flight of steps.

As soon as they are done they will ask their old contractor-friend to fix the garage and the basement a bit to make it look better.

No idle time

I love how there’s always something for me to do and learn from when I am online. Some think that being on the internet means that you are wasting time but the truth is that there is so much to learn and earn from it.

Have you heard of an affiliate marketing? You can earn by endorsing a product or service and when a customer buys from your affiliate link or code, you get a commission out of it. Can you imagine how you can earn from that? The potential earnings?

Nothing wrong with it.

I find it refreshing to see women shopping for discount jewelry. I would like to tell everyone that there’s nothing wrong with it. There is nothing wrong in admitting that you don’t have enough money to buy for the full tag price but would rather wait for a sale or a slash the price.

I know someone who tries to pretend that she has more than enough money to buy everything she fancies. The truth is that she has someone supporting her in some other way that’s why she can afford all those stuff she buys.

There is nothing wrong to wearing discounted items for as long as it fits you well.

No other choice

I had no other choice but to help my cousin with the H&R block at home. He is not so adept when doing his taxes and since I have experience doing so, he called me up to ask for my help. In exchange, he promised to take me out to lunch. That’s totally fine with me!

Whenever love ones ask for help, I take the time to lend a hand in whatever they need help from. I am not an expert on anything but for whatever it is I know I truly give my best.

Hopefully, that’s enough for them.

Left with little time

I had to run an errand for my dad yesterday for a saft ls14250 so I was left with little time to finish a very important task I have. I asked for an extension of deadline from my “boss” and was given one day more to complete the task. I am grateful for that one day.

So I think I will spend the rest of this day doing nothing else but sit in front of my computer and write, write, write! I will have to finish the task today or I will not get any more tasks from the person I am dealing with.

Good thing there’s no more errand to run.

Busy, busy!

Darren is so busy with his work and the IT Infrastructure Library that he doesn’t have much time for anything else. His parents are calling up asking when he can visit them. His friends are chiding him for always saying “no” to their invites. His colleagues are teasing him about not going out with them for happy hour anymore.

And all he can tell them is that he’s busy!

He is doing his best to catch up on work and be done on the assignment he has now. After that he will find time to make it up to his parents, friends, and colleagues. And to himself!

Kiddie party

I will be attending a kiddie party with the family this coming weekend. The kid, a cousin actually, will be celebrating her 3rd birthday at a pizza house. So now I am looking for personalized gifts for kids under 5. I will get her two, one from me and one from my younger brother who’s a godfather to him.

I always look forward to family gatherings. I love spending time with them especially with those I only see during special events. Aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and distant relatives… we don’t often see each other but when we do, you can expect a lot of catching up, loud laughter and warm hugs.

Not tall enough

Mommies who are on the short side of the ruler should always have a sturdy step stool at home. I remember seeing my mom reaching up for the cabinets that were up on the wall. It took her forever to reach the items on the shelves and in the cabinets because she’s not tall enough.

So a good sturdy step stool comes in handy inside the home. If you don’t have one yet, better get one because your mom will surely appreciate it, no matter if she’s actually tall enough to reach the shelves. Having a step stool will stop them from straining their arms and legs when they reach up.

Engrossed in car lessons

She is teaching herself about cars. She bought a lot of car magazines and even book for dummies about car, car parts, machine and even driving. She is engrossed in car lessons because she plans to open up a car shop with her brothers and she doesn’t want to be ignorant about the business she’s going into.

She already knows that there are oxygen sensors. She knows about machines and fuel pumps and all that. She knows about car parts but she still has to orient herself more about it.

A little bit more and she will become an expert already.

Adopted baby girl

They already bought a lot of stuff for the kid’s bedroom. They didn’t know there were so many stuff you can buy for a child’s room including kids switchplate covers. They were surprised!

It took them six years into their marriage when they finally accepted the fact that they can’t conceive. So they talked about it with each other, a heart to heart talk about raising kids not their own, and then when they reached a decision to adopt, they talked to their families and closest friends. Every one of their love ones and friends are supportive of their decision.

They went ahead and adopted a three-year-old girl. And now they are preparing for her arrival. They can’t wait to begin their new life with her.

Level up in viewing option

We were at the mall, my dad, my siblings and I. We were checking out some stuff and we came to the flat screen TV section. My dad said that we should get one for the living room complete with a flat screen mount. He wants to up the viewing experience at home that’s why he said that.

We are a family who love to watch TV series and movies together. We would troop to the living room and watch. We love making comments while we’re watching and discussing the episode right after the credits end.

I think I’m going to buy that flat screen TV next week!

Ala-Marlon Brando

He needs to learn how to smoke so he bought himself the best cheap cigars. He pegged Marlon Brando in his movies where he smoked. He has a movie coming up and he really needs to perfect the act. He will be acting alongside really big celebrities and he doesn’t want to be embarrassed in front of them.

He doesn’t really smoke but for the sake of his career which is picking up since the past year he will learn how to. He will make sure that he gives the best acting so that he will be asked to join more movies in the future.

Cooler weather

Sooner or later it will be time to take the hot tub cover off so it can be used again. The weather is so much cooler the past couple of days and it won’t be long until everyone at home will clamor for a time in the hot tub.

Normally I would love the sun to shine really bright day after day. But with the humid and super hot weather, for the first time I can’t wait for the rainy season to get started.

I just want to be able to go out in the middle of the day without having to worry about heat stroke.

Tech talk

When there’s tech talk around her, Gia’s eyes would surely glaze over. She doesn’t like tech talks as she is an illiterate in it. Hahaha! She went to dinner with her guy friends and the guys talked about the best joomla hosting. She tuned them out and just focused on her e-book reading. When the guys noticed that Gia was no longer joining their conversations, they stopped and talked about something else.

I think we all have our strengths in different fields. Gia’s field is numbers. She is in the banking industry and when it comes to bank talk, believe me she can go on and on!

Curious about it.

Frieda is truly curious about the ways her girl friends are losing weight. She has always been blessed with a good metabolism so she doesn’t really need what they are taking but she is still curious so she asked them about it and she did some research. She is okay with it but she is still wary about the possible side effects. If you are curious, too, you can learn more about it.

I do believe that there is nothing wrong in trying to lose weight the fastest way possible as long as the person knows what he or she is getting into. Live and let live.

Loved one passing

It’s never easy to witness a loved one dying. It will forever be embedded in your mind. It will forever break your heart a little when reminded of it. I know because I’ve been there.

After the heartbreak of seeing a loved one die, there are the funeral arrangements to be made. Your heart is being squeezed every minute of arranging for the wake and burial of the loved one. It’s never easy because while you are in pain over the passing, you have to keep your wits with you to be able to arrange everything for the funeral.
