Shark in the building!

Shark Week

A good guy snapped this shot of the Discovery Channel‘s headquarters in Silver Spring, which has been quite appropriately outfitted for the cable channel’s annual Shark Week. You’ll never go in the water again!

Now how cool is that building, huh?!?

Line up!

Can you imagine our former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo lining up anywhere in the country she once ruled over to pay for something? You need not imagine anymore! Just look at this photo…

Arroyos

Yes, that’s GMA (Pampanga representative, by the way), her husband Mike Arroyo, and son Dato. They are lining up at a counter to pay for the airport tax for their flight to Hong Kong yesterday.

Life is like a wheel. Sometimes you’re up, next time you’re down.

Baby Shower Invitations

Baby Shower Invitations

Do you know how much convenience the internet is giving us? Instead of going out, I can now order Baby Invitations for Baby Shower online. My cousin will be giving birth in a little less than two months now. She is huge! Twins can do that to you :)

So me and the other girls in the family will be throwing a baby shower for her. We are excited for the arrival of the twin babies so we are having a theme party where everything will be in two’s. The baby invites will be ordered at Birth-Cards, a web site offering unique and exclusive designs of baby shower invitations. What I like about the site is that when you can’t find the exact design you want, they can create one for you. Plus, they offer same day printing and shipping which is really cool!

Remember http://www.birth-cards.com for your baby invites.

Chocoholics, read this!

chocsyr

Are you a chocoholic? How about two bars of “super-strength chocolate specially formulated by Belgian chocolatiers” daily for one year? Interested? All in the name of medical science, of course!

Researchers at the University of East Anglia and a hospital in Norwich, eastern England are trying to find out whether chocolate can cut the risk of heart disease and need 40 women to step forward and help.

Oh, but there’s a catch here: volunteers should be menopausal but under the age of 75 and should have type two diabetes.

According to study coordinator Peter Curtis: “A successful outcome could be the first step in developing new ways to improve the lives of people at increased risk of heart disease.”

overcrowded

Those are Hindu devotees traveling in an obviously overcrowded passenger train last July 22, 2009. The people came from a holy dip and prayer offering in the waters of Brahma Sarovar, a sacred pond, during the solar eclipse in the northern Indian city of Kurukshetra.

Thousands of people gathered for a dip in the Ganges because they believe that it is an act that will lead them to salvation from th cycle of life and death.

A flying stingray?

New Zealand Flying Ray

A stingray leaps out of the water as it is hunted by a killer whale, whose fin can be seen below the ray, just off St. Heliers beach in Auckland, New Zealand.

Amazing, isn’t it?

Robot with a soft touch

robot

According to Reuters.com, this robot, presented during a demonstration at the FOOMA Japan international food machinery and technology exhibition in Tokyo, June 12, 2009, has soft pneumatic fingers that can handle delicate objects without crushing them. A fine example: handling plastic sushi.

Japan will never stop until they could finally clone a human robot. I bet sooner or later, they will be unveiling a robot with arms and legs that of human. And then a face closer to human’s. And then a body. And then…

Who knows?!
